Rattler Roundup: February 2025
Rattler Roundup – February 2025
February flew by! It may have been the shortest month, but there was no shortage of excitement for your Ariat Texas Rattlers last month. But time March-es on, so let’s get to it: Here’s the ssscoop on what went down across Rattler Nation last month, and a preview of what you can expect in the coming couple of weeks.

UNLEASH THE BEAST
The Unleash the Beast Tour stopped by Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville in February. Brady Fielder is still on FIRE! The Aussie phenom has defended his number one spot for a month straight (and counting!) since climbing to the top in the last week of January. Joao Ricardo Vieria and Claudio Montanha Jr. had great Februaries as well, keeping up with the competition across the UTB circuit and chipping away to advance toward the top.
By the numbers, here’s how February went for your Ariat Texas Rattlers:
Sacramento, CA
Joao Ricardo Vieiria and Claudio Montanha Jr. each made qualified rides on 2 of their 4 bulls in Sacramento. JRV bested “Blackstone” and “July” for 86 and 88 points respectively, making for an aggregate score of 174 points and a 6th place finish on the weekend. Claudio Montanha Jr. finished 10th with 162 points thanks to an 85-point-ride aboard “Tropic Thunder” and a 77-point-dance with “Tank” in the first and second rounds.
Salt Lake City, UT
Brady Fielder, Joao Ricardo Vieria, and Claudio Montanha Jr. proved they know how to make an entrance during the first round of Salt Lake City. Fielder got the first round win with an 88.5-point-ride aboard Dirty Dave. Joao Ricardo Vieria took “Buckshot” for a spin worth 86.75, followed by Claudio Montanha Jr. with 85 points on “Skywalker”.
Indianapolis, IN
In Indianapolis, Brady Fielder made some Round 1 magic with an 85.5-point-ride aboard Time for Magic, while Claudio Montanha Jr. took El Chapo for a spin worth 85 points in the second round.
Jacksonville, FL
The Rattlers rounded out the month on a high note in the sunshine state. Brady Fielder went 3/3 in Jacksonville to place 3rd overall with an aggregate score of 263.75.
All three qualified Rattlers placed in Round 1: Joao Ricardo Vieira scored the highest of the three with an 88.25-point-ride aboard Rafter P Construction’s Smooth Over It. Brady Fielder bested Jail Bird to the tune of 87 points, and Claudio Montanha Jr. found the whistle aboard Where’s The Beef for a score of 84 points.
Round 2 was Fielder’s turn to take on Rafter P Construction's Smooth Over It. He rode for 86.75 points before moving on to the championship round, where he scored an impressive 90-point-ride aboard Big Chili to round out the weekend in third place overall.

LOOKING AHEAD
There are two Unleash the Beast stops left in March: UTB qualified Rattlers will be spending some time in Palm Springs, California (21-23) before rounding out the month in Albuquerque, NM (28-30) at the Ty Murray Invitational.
The Rattlers will be taking on the Austin Gamblers in the Monster Energy Team Challenge on Night 1 in Albuquerque. We know that beating the Gamblers isn’t luck, but as the defending champions of the Texas Cup, we like our chances…
We’ll be looking for a repeat victory come March 28 – make sure to tune into the show in ABQ via the PBR mobile app or official YouTube channel as we remind the Gamblers what we’re made of.
We’ll be back in your inbox next month with a recap of all the most exciting moments from the coming couple of weeks. Until then, make sure to follow @texasrattlersofficial and @pbr on social media, and stream Unleash the Beast each weekend with RidePass or the PBR’s Official YouTube channel, to keep up with the action as it happens!
Ssseee ya later!
