Rattler Roundup: Rattler Days 2024

Rattler Roundup – Fort Worth, TX

The bucks are bigger in Texas. From Cowtown Coliseum to Dickies Arena, Fort Worth was the place to be last weekend. The hometown team (and the hometown crowd) showed up to play, setting records and climbing ranks left and right.

Your Ariat Texas Rattlers swept the competition, defending their home dirt with wins every single night for a 3-0 performance at the close of the weekend. Texas added another $8,000 to the Chevron $800 for 8 tally with a total of ten qualified rides across those three games. Now boasting an impressive 9–0 record at home, the Rattlers remain the only PBR team undefeated on home dirt. Rattler Days 2024 also became the very first PBR Teams event to sell out all three days of competition.

We are truly grateful to all of Rattler Nation for making our homestand such a success. If this is your first email from us, welcome to the Snake Pit! We’re so glad you’re here — you’ve come at a good time. For all you veterans, you already know the drill. Either way, we’ve got a lot to catch up on: Here’s What Went Down in Fort Worth over the weekend, as well as What’s New and What’s Next on the docket for Texas.

What Went Down

Rattler Days Recap

Game 1: Oklahoma Wildcatters

Your Ariat Texas Rattlers started the weekend off strong with a shutout victory over Oklahoma on night one of Rattler Days. Hometown pride was at an all-time high as the guys donned their exclusive Panther City jerseys inside Cowtown Coliseum for the Thursday night matchup. Per usual, Brady Fielder got Texas off on the right foot, logging an impressive 89.25-point-ride aboard Desert Twister. Daniel Keeping then followed suit, collecting his ninth consecutive qualified ride with his 87.5-point-coverage of Renegade. Marcelo Procopio Pereira was the final Rattler to strike, putting up 85.5 points aboard Warlock to clinch the Red River Rivalry win for Texas. (Final 262.25 : 0)

Game 2: Austin Gamblers

Friday night brought another all-important rivalry matchup the Rattlers’ way. The odds were in our favor as we went head-to-head with our in-state rivals, the Austin Gamblers, inside Dickie’s arena for the final matchup of the 2024 Texas Cup. Brady Fielder was offered a re-ride following his first out, making Daniel Keeping the first Rattler to pick up a score. Dan the Man went all gas, no brakes during his dance with Gas Money, collecting 87.5 points to get Texas on the board. This marked his tenth consecutive qualified ride – a new PBR Teams Series record. Marcelo Procopio Periera was next to strike, matching Bootlegger jump-for-jump to collect another 84 points for Texas. Brady Fielder then took his shot at redemption, collecting 86 points aboard Flyin Wired. With three qualified rides to the Gamblers’ one, the Rattlers ended the game as the inaugural Texas Cup champions. Brady Fielder then went on to win the shootout round for Texas, besting Woody with an 89.25-point-ride that officially bumped him to the #1 spot in the MVP rankings. (Final 257.5 : 87.5)

Game 3: Nashville Stampede

Saturday night it was champions against champions as the reigning world champion Texas Rattlers squared off against the 2022 Teams Series champions, the Nashville Stampede. It was another shutout victory for the Ariat Texas Rattlers, beating the Stampede for the first time this season and keeping our perfect record on home dirt unscathed. We officially clinched our trip back to Vegas, too, with qualified rides from MVP Brady Fielder and veteran closer João Ricardo Vieria. Fielder and Wingman teamed up to collect 87.5-points for Texas, while JRV and Haymaker made it count with an 88-point-score. Brady Fielder then took on Magic Hunter in the shootout round, winning the final night of the Rattlers’ homestand with a 91.75-point-score. (Final 175.5 : 0)

The season is coming to a close, but his career is just beginning. We can’t wait to see what he and the rest of the team get done between now and championship Sunday, just a couple weekends from now.
